We have a bounty of fresh vegetables at the farm stand! And of course raspberries and blueberries. Also come by for fresh peaches, home made jams & preserves, Lauren's famous pickles, and more.
This Sunday will be our last "coffee & scones" gathering of the summer. There won't actually be scones--come for the surprise baked goods and meet Vermont Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rebecca Holcolm.

Thank You!!!
Thanks so much for shopping at Whetstone Ledges Farm Stand this season! This is the final week that we'll be open. This does not mean, however, that it's the end of the produce season. If you are interested in ordering fresh produce delivered to your door throughout the fall, contact Gail at dmacarthur@igc.org to find out how. There will be plenty of kale, swiss chard, bok choi, parsley and potatoes, and we expect to have lettuce and salad mix available soon. Please stock up this week on beef and chicken from the farm stand and contact Brian McNeice directly after we close. Thanks so much for your support of local agriculture and for being part of this strong community!

Growing Green!
Happy late spring/early summer, friends!
The fields are planted, the tomatoes in the hoop house are knee-high, and the raspberry plants are healthy as can be. (We've also got plenty of rocks, our most sustained and prolific crop.)
We do have a few greens in the refrigerator at the farm stand. We'll be fully open in mid-June. Looking forward to seeing you this season!

scones, cider, books!
Oh my, friends, it's July, and things are happening!
First off, for all you who have been asking: THE FIRST COFFEE & SCONES IS THIS SUNDAY! July 13th, 9am....we'll try our darndest to have fresh berries in those scones (come on, sun). And whipped cream, and coffee, and tea, and something cool and refreshing for the younger crowd. Can't wait to see you all!
Second, Whetstone CiderWorks will be there on Sunday morning selling their delicious ciders! (Have we over-used the exclamation point, yet? Robin is writing this, and she is caffeinated.) But really, what's better than picking up your favorite bottle of local cider for the evening while you're basking in the sun with your friends in the morning. The word on the road is that Whetstone CiderWorks has developed a cult following in Brooklyn, NY...folks there say it's "the best" and "the real deal." Just think--you can meet the famous (and mysterious) cider makers in person while eating fresh berry scones!
Third, Robin's essay "Sugaring," which appeared in Orion Magazine, has just come out their new anthology of food writing. It can be purchased from their site (here), or, tada, even better, purchased at the stand alongside your cider, your coffee and your scone. The book includes work by Jane Hirshfield, Maxine Kumin, Barbara Kingsolver, Tamar Adler, and others. It will help convince you that buying local, and buying fresh, really is the best thing.
And now, out to enjoy all the green....

fields of green
A few shots from this week of the industrious (and c'mon, cute!) folks working in the fields. In order of appearance: Owen Cricket, Yarrow Keenan, and Gail M.
And.....we're excited to officially open the stand this Sunday! You'll find: greens, greens and more greens, maple syrup, preserves (including Lauren's famous dandelion marmalade), and organic, local meat from Bonvue Farm.
Can't wait to see you all there!
Gail, Robin & Lauren
